Service Disclaimer

Alterations involve permanent modifications to garments and, once completed, may not be reversible. The Client is responsible for carefully reviewing and approving all requested alterations prior to work commencing.

Many garments, particularly wedding gowns, formalwear, vintage garments, delicate fabrics, lace, silk, tulle, beading, sequins, embellishments and previously altered items, may contain hidden weaknesses, defects or damage that are not apparent during inspection. Alterations by Jacqui cannot guarantee the integrity of fabrics, stitching, embellishments or materials that may have deteriorated due to age, wear, storage conditions, manufacturing defects, previous cleaning or prior alterations.

Where measurements are supplied by the Client, the Client is solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of those measurements and for advising Alterations by Jacqui of any changes in body measurements, weight, pregnancy or other circumstances that may affect garment fit. Alterations by Jacqui accepts no responsibility for fitting issues arising from inaccurate measurements or changes occurring after measurements have been taken.

Although every effort will be made to achieve the desired fit and appearance, Alterations by Jacqui cannot guarantee that alterations will produce a particular aesthetic outcome where garment construction, fabric limitations or design features restrict available alteration options.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alterations by Jacqui shall not be liable for: Pre-existing damage, wear, staining or defects; Fabric weakness, deterioration or discolouration; Loose or damaged beads, lace, sequins or embellishments; Manufacturing defects; Damage resulting from prior alterations, cleaning or storage; Changes in garment fit caused by fluctuations in body measurements after fittings have been completed; Consequential or indirect losses arising from the use of the garment.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

By engaging Alterations by Jacqui and authorising work to proceed, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood and accepted this Disclaimer and the Terms and Conditions of Service. The final fitting payment and/or collection of the garment constitutes acceptance of the completed alterations unless any concerns are raised at that time. The person collecting items assumes full responsibility for the acceptance of completed service and responsibility for the garment thereafter.
